About University

Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University) traces its origins to Kristu Jayanti University, founded in 1999 and managed by Bodhi Niketan Trust, established by the members of the St. Joseph Province of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI). Guided by a strong value-based vision, the institution is committed to providing inclusive educational opportunities that nurture academic excellence, ethical values, civic responsibility, environmental consciousness, and global competencies within a dynamic and learner-centric environment.

The Institution has earned National recognition for its quality and excellence. It was reaccredited with an 'A++' grade with CGPA of 3.78 out of 4 by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in 2021 during its Third Cycle of Accreditation, reflecting its sustained commitment to high academic standards. Recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Sections 2(f) and 12(B), the university has also enjoyed Autonomous Status since 2013, granted by the UGC, the Government of Karnataka, and Bangalore University, enabling academic flexibility and innovation.

In National rankings, the Institution continues to make its mark. In the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025, Kristu Jayanti secured a place among the top 50 colleges in India, achieving a 34th rank and ranked as one of the top 5 Institutions from Karnataka. Further affirming its reputation, the India Today–MDRA Survey 2025 consecutively ranked Kristu Jayanti as the Best Emerging College of the Century at the National Level across Commerce, Science, Arts, and Social Work.

The Department of Computer Science (PG) stands as a flagship of the Institution's academic strength. Offering advanced postgraduate programs such as MCA, M.Sc. Computer Science, and M.Sc. Data Science, the Department delivers rigorous, full-time two-year programs that integrate strong theoretical foundations with hands-on practical exposure. The curriculum emphasizes data management, intelligent systems, software development, and emerging technologies, while also addressing critical dimensions of ethics, cyber security, and responsible computing, preparing graduates to excel in a rapidly evolving digital world.

SHELLS 2026, the 21st edition of the National IT Fest organised by the Department of Computer Science (PG), Kristu Jayanti Deemed to be University, marks a significant milestone in a legacy that began in 2006 and still been shining for over two decades. Conceived as a platform to spark technical curiosity and showcase emerging talent, SHELLS has grown into a nationally recognised forum celebrating innovation, creativity, and technological excellence.

Over the years, it has evolved into a dynamic convergence of academia and industry, encouraging knowledge exchange, competitive spirit, and forward thinking ideas. The 21st edition of SHELLS continues this proud tradition by empowering students to explore cutting-edge technologies, engage with future-ready concepts, and collaborate beyond boundaries.

Group Registration

  • Each group will have 22 participants (for all events).
  • A maximum of two groups per college is allowed, but they must be from two different departments.
  • Contingent Registration Amount: ₹4000/- per team.

Individual Registration

  • IT Manager Amount: ₹300/- per participant
  • Other Events Amount: ₹200/- per participant
  • Multiple teams from the same college are permitted. However, each team must consist either of participants from the same department or a single combined team formed by participants from different departments.

General Guidelines

  • Only postgraduate (PG) students and undergraduate students pursuing BE or BTech programmes are allowed to participate.
  • All participants are requested to get a bonafide letter from their respective institutions along with their ID cards.
  • On-the-spot registration is available, but participants are encouraged to register through the website in advance.
  • Participants are expected to uphold the decorum of the event. Any violation, including foul language, will lead to immediate disqualification.
  • Participants are advised to clarify doubts with the respective event coordinators before the event.
  • Formal dress code is required.
  • Be present 15 minutes before the event starts.
  • If eliminated, you may participate in other events (time constraints apply).
  • Students in IT Manager, Gaming and Surprise event cannot participate in other events.
  • Participants are responsible for any damage to University property.
  • Participants are responsible for their own belongings.
